A little about the team
“Our experiences include: organizational management, art curating and display, space design and refresh, reorganization and renovation, project or event production, help with branding, paper flow and data management and more.”
Heather Huel
I love to work with people to:
- Find answers
- Discover resources
- Identify options
When I have found myself “stuck” in life, I have been so grateful for friends, colleagues, and even casual acquaintances who have taken the time to listen to me, perhaps hear my situation differently, and help me see a path forward. I have valued their trust, honesty, and confidentiality. It can be uncomfortable to open up and talk about something that I feel I should have taken care of by myself. Self-judgment is uncomfortable and usually unproductive.
If you have a situation where you’d like to see movement – to begin something, to conclude something, or to move beyond the current bump in the road, let’s have a conversation. Maybe I can help. The quote below from Arthur Ashe often inspires me to begin!

I have lots of experience with:
- Non-Profit Fundraising and Development
- Special Events Planning
- Marketing and Promotions
I recently retired from a 30-year career in commercial real estate, real estate development, and property management. Looking back, I see the main highlights of my work life involved conceiving, planning, and implementing new projects, everything from commercial building repairs to the “I Love Kailua Town Party” to marketing and social media strategies for my property owners.
When asked what I wanted to do when I retired, I simply said that I wanted to play with my dog. I’m now doing that, and more, being a director of a non-profit (Windward Dog Park Hui) dedicated to opening an off-leash dog park in Windward Oahu. Surprisingly this role incorporates much of what I did in my real estate career and has enhanced my contributions to the organization.
In addition, my other “pet project” has been hand-raising Monarch butterflies for eight years now. If you, or know of someone (school teachers, homeschool parents) who wants to learn about this wonderful experience, let me know. It’s a marvelous learning experience!
- Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Minor in Psychology

I am a big-picture person who knows how to dive into the details that make the big picture work. I spent 20+ years in media in Hawaii and California, ranging from writing commercials and business videos to writing/producing/directing award-winning educational programming that appeared nationally on PBS stations and around the world.
A reinvention some years ago has taken me into the world of online instructional design, where I’ve developed impactful courses in business and sales training for some of the world’s largest organizations.
All of this has resulted in a broad knowledge base and the ability to coordinate the many pieces of the big into a meaningful whole that achieves its objectives — a skill that can be applied in many areas of life… maybe in yours?

I want to utilize these life experiences to bring joy to your life in some special way—big or small.
I grew up in Baltimore, married at 20, had two kids, and divorced at 31. In my mid-30s, I created a commercial design firm. At around 50, I sold everything and traveled the world for 25 years. I spent time in Sedona, Arizona experiencing many different spiritual and healing modalities.
After leaving Sedona, for the first year, I did a “walkabout” through Fiji, Bali, Australia, Tasmania, New Zealand (where I worked with an architect on a revolutionary energy-efficient house), and Rarotonga, traveling with just a backpack. With a suitcase in hand, I then visited around an additional 20 more countries. I did a variety of things in the places where I stopped—managed a hostel, worked in vineyards, cooked, gardened, and among other things, danced Argentinian Tango for joy in Buenos Aires.
- Commercial Design Firm – Opened and managed for about 15 years
- Under a Hula Moon – Retail displays and design
- Kauai B&B (two years) – Introduced health-inspired energy to the operation, cooked all meals, collaborated with tour guides, and engaged practitioners to provide lomilomi and other health-directed/enhanced activities to provide an overall environment of well-being and health.

I am a freelance writer, recently retired after 33 years working at The Honolulu Advertiser and then the merged Honolulu Star-Advertiser, where I handled the full range of news, features, and opinion writing.
I have a deep connection to the islands, living on Oahu since 1969 and staying involved in community and professional groups. I have interests in Hawaii’s cultures, as well as in the performing arts generally.
Working in the editorial section has enabled me to exercise an open mind, and I can hear various viewpoints without needing to steer them.
I believe in the value of expressing ourselves well through the written word. I can take on that task for you — or give you the little boost you need.

Ready to Pivot–Possibilities
Do you feel like you’re in a rut? Has the joy gone out of life? Are you looking for what’s next? Are you ready for a new direction but not sure?
What inspires me is working with clients who want to take the next step, but are hesitating, folks who may be feeling something stirring on the inside but haven’t been able to express it on the outside. I have worked with non-profits, senior executives – attorneys, architects, CEO’S, CFO’S AND CPA’S, realtors, fundraisers and more – educators, politicians, newscasters, midlifers, empty nesters, athletes, artists, musicians, those in various life transitions, to help them navigate, redefine and reinvent their next life chapters.
What I’m passionate about is helping clients who are open and willing to do the inner and outer work to discover what brings them alive and really inspires them.
What I bring to the table is a deep listening, a compassionate curiosity, a creative capacity to hear what’s missing and together design a safe environment where the client is freed up to discover what matters to them, help them find interdisciplinary tools and resources to navigate the changes and build the lifestyle structures that can lead to joy and success, freedom and fulfillment.
And what will you do with your one wild and precious life? ––Mary Oliver, poet
